Planning Commission Votes to Deny High Density Subdivision for Old Lexington RoadFriday, Feb. 2 - The Athens-Clarke Planning Commission
voted unanimously against allowing 104 houses on the 129 acre property,
located across from Emerald Drive. They voted instead to recommend
that the property be rezoned RS-40, rather than the requested RS-40
PD, which would have allowed the higher density. Read the article

Proposed Subdivision for Old Lexington Road to be Considered by CommissionA controversial subdivision proposal by REL Properties, Inc. of Decatur will be considered by the Commission in March. The Commission had denied this rezoning request last year, but after REL filed suit, has been ordered by Superior Court Judge Joseph Gaines to rezone the property. (The Commission will make a decision on this rezoning because it was originally submitted under the old zoning code.) View
